GE Aerospace Signs MOU with HAL to Produce Fighter Jet Engines For Indian Air Force
Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on his political tour of America and in the meanwhile a big news is coming that the American aerospace company General Electric Aerospace (GE Aerospace) has signed a contract with India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Company to make engines for the fighter jets of Indian Air Force. An agreement (MOU) has been signed to make fighter jet engines, which can prove to be a millstone for the political relationship and future of the two countries. This announcement has been made by a press release from GE Aerospace.
The subsidiary has said in the agreement that the F414 engines will give more power to India's indigenously built Air Force Light Combat Aircraft MK2
"This has been made possible by our long-standing partnership with India and HAL," said Kalp Jr., CEO of GE Aerospace. He further expressed happiness by stating that he takes pride in the fact that after this agreement the close relations between the two countries (India and America) will move forward. Their unique engines will provide security to both countries.

The company is present in India for more than 40 years in engineering, engines, avionics, services, manufacturing and local sourcing. GE started working with HAL in 1986 with the F404 engine. The later F414 engine is working with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on the LAC project.
